I wouldn't waste your money on that kit mate,it's junk.
Produced in China from cobbled together parts, nothing will fit properly, please don't waste your money.
A proper turbo set up is going to cost you a LOT more than that, have a browse on the Begi or flyin miata websites to get an idea of what you are looking at.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will stay clear of the ebay kits.
Some great contacts there as well I will check them out. MX5 restorers sounds like they know the cars inside out as well. When I get the conversion done I will post updates!
Thanks again

steve beavon:
Opinions please..Is it really worth spending 6k on an MX5 turbo, unless you're going to get the full enjoyment out of it on a track?
Yes it's worth doing. But no you don't have to spend 6k to get there.

I've heard Muppet on here say a number of times (or I've read the same post a number of times??) that his turbo conversion was in the £600 pound mark, ran faultlessly for the past two years and included two drifting seasons. There is a lot of grey inbetween the chinky choppy chop socky fleabay 'bargains' and a 6k premium for an, albeit, excellent conversion.
Never, ever have I bloody ever anything!

A whole host of options indeed. From most owners ive spoke to the cost is more likely to be in the £1500-£3000 bracket for a decent turbo/supercharger conversion
0-60 times on a 190 bhp car will be in the 6.5 region but its the in gear flexibility that shows. Put your foot in 5th @ 70 mph (In germany!) and I soon run out of numbers on the speedo(120) and the car keeps going.
Had it logged at 138.
It can be a lot of money and a lot of hassle.
The easiest way is to buy one of the many fully finished cars that crop up for little more than the parts are worth.
£6000 must have been an exceptional build...I would have expected a MK3 cosworth kit to be fitted, with extras for that.
Mine was £1200 for the bits and £400 fitting....Many trackdays and thousands of miles later all is still well.

I have been looking at these kits on ebay
The thing that would concern me about that seller is that he is also selling "Electric Superchargers"
Can anyone say snake oil?
