this is my MX5 project.
I have owend the 1.6 MK2 car since i was 18 so more than 3 years now. the first thing i did to the car was put a good set of 15" team dynamics pro race 2s on the car. from there i added a induction filter to get a nice grunt off the car. i then proceeded to improve the handling by installing a 30mm lowering SPAX PSX kit and some whiteline adjustabal ARBs, EBC turbo grooved discs and grean stuff pads and finished it off with some Yokohama Prada Spec 2s.
back then the car looked like this
the car drove like a dream, bit rough in town but on the twisty back roads the car was a hot hach and bike killer. though the car did lack on power. but it could take bends at insane speeds and stop very quick.
i then unfortunatly crashed the car on the way to uniy one slippy morning. i ran in to the back of a VW passat. luckly i hit the tow bar and caused no damage to the other driver and i received no damage from the person who hit the back of me. the car was looking sorry for its self
so some cheap parts from a scrappy were installed before i later painted them my self.
i thought id go a bit different with a black bonnet to go with the black hood and alloys and a square front regy plate and rear tow eye.
i also fixed another problem at the time which some MK2 owners will know about. the passenger sill was coroded right through.
so i cut it out and welded a new bit of galvy plate in before filling over, underseeling and painting.
now all was well till i crashed the car just befor Xmas 2011/12.
i ripped the passanger wing nearly completely off, bent ther lower wishbone, deployed air bag, detonated seatbelts and some other dammage. i will try find some pictures. i then didnt know what to do because i had just bought a B16A2 honda V-tec engine and was going to do a honda civic project which quickly got scraped. i then went and bought a sensable car in the form of an Audi A4 Avant 1.8T high power.
now i intend on going the turbo route with the MX5, i all ready have a supra intercooler to start the project.
I will try and get some new pictures up and keep posting during the project.
any coments and help with ideas and parts for the turbo project would be apprciated. bearing in mind i only intend in taking it to 250 BHP to start with.
