    Powder coating

     Hi All

I am not sure I am posting this in the correct location so sorry if it is wrong.

I have just had my rocker cover and inlet manifold powder coated, metallic blue. If anyone else is looking for a good company to carry out this sort of work I can highly recommend the company I used.

I have never dealt with them before, nor do I have any connection with them, other than the work I have had done. I also do not benefit from this, I just believe in praising good work.

The service is first class, nothing is too much trouble. The standard of work is excellent, and the cost is reasonable.

The company is TDW Powder Coating, Hinckley,Leics. They do have a website. My rocker cover is on the guest page.

All I need now is some decent weather to get them fitted, I have penciled in August 2016.

    Happy motoring

    Re: Powder coating

I don`t think so. It might be a bit too bling for me although I can see why people do that.

With the inlet manifold the same colour I think it will look pretty good as it is. Understated but smart.

Happy to listen to other ideas though.

    Re: Powder coating

I had the road springs powder coated on my car because they were a bit rusty when I got them (they were actually from a 1991 Roadster, so the springs were older than the car*).  It was Not Cheap.

*but springs don't appreciably creep; if they don't make the specified free length, it is due to an accumulation of very big hits - unlikely on an MX-5 due to its low weight and cargo capacity - rather than just the weight of the car sitting on them for two decades.  The usual 1" sag to the driver's side at the rear of an old Mk1 is caused by deformed bushes and has nothing to do with the springs.  Miatas sag to the left, obviously.
