    Removing Trim Panels & Switches.

How do I remove the cental console from a Mk2.  I have removed the two screws in the lockable box, the one under the ash tray and the two on either side at the front of the moulding.  However, it still seems to be securly fastned to the central switch/radio panel without any obvious fastening.

Also, how can I remove the cigaret lighter and the switch panel next to it.

Re: Removing Trim Panels & Switches.

     Hi

There is an additional screw located below the electric window switches or blanking panel if you dont have the switches, these can be gently eased out with a flat bladed screw driver and a piece of cloth to protect the console, I dont know how the other panel comes out, one part I have not removed yet but im sure someone on here will come along with the right advice,

    Regards,

    Paul.

Thanks for your suggestion Paul. I dont have an additional screw under the window switches. However I have discovered that the imitation wood trim around the gear stick unclips and then I had access to two more clips which released the centre console. I also found that the switch panel can be prized out. I just needed to use a little more effort.

    Regards,

    Peter
