    DAB problem

    Hi all,

My MK2came with a JVC "KD-DB101" DAB headunit, works fine, appart from the DAB :/ I'm not too fussed but my girlfriend likes the radio on and it'd be good for long journeys.

the aerial is one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AFAR-amplified-internal-glass-mount-DAB-car-aerial-/120791694539?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item1c1fbefccb#ht_500wt_717

Theres no heated windscreen, the windows are very slightly tinted but can't imagine that'd cause a problem?

I'm wondering if anyone has had problems with this type of antenna? or is theres any compatability issues with these things? (or are the just a bit crappy?)

With the windows down or the top off theres some pretty bad speeker rattle.. anyone had this? is there an easy fix? They are totally fine otherwise.. common problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: DAB problem

Have you got it mounted horizontaly or vertical? it needs to be vertical to get the best reception, and have you put the 12v feed to the amplifier via the electric ariel feed from the headunit? if you have done both of these look at a proper body mount FM/AM DAB antenna.

Speakers could just be age, it dosent cost a lot to get a decent pair these days and by the sounds of it too much loud playing has damaged the voice coil hence the crackling.
