NC - Replacing Single Disc "Non-Sport" Stereo with "Sport" Bose Changer Unit

    Hi folks,

Time to use the collective hive mind for this one...

I've managed to acquire a Bose headunit from an NC Sport in the hope that I can use it to upgrade the single-disc unit that came as standard with my NC Ikon. I've fitted it, but whilst the radio seems to work okay the CD mode and my X-Car Link really aren't happy.

I haven't changed any speakers or loom in my car - it's all completely standard - so what I'm trying to decide is if:-

    1. The Bose headunit isn't compatible with my non-Sport NC
    2. The unit is ***********'d (broken) and should be returned from whence it came.

Right now the only way I feel I can check is to strip down a friend's RC Sport (which has this unit as standard) and install this unit to find out if it's okay or not.

    Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Alan

The BOSE system has extras not fitted to the standard set-up, an AudioPilot microphone and external amplifier. I don't think you're actually getting the benefit of the BOSE sound. This shouldn't affect the operation of the system though so it could have an internal fault somewhere. What exactly is the problem?

If it's like the earlier Bose I don't think they work without the external amp

Think they're also 2 ohm instead of 4 ohm speakers.
