Could be worse though, at my old work car park there was a baby pink Nissan Micrap complete with fluttery eye-lashes, daisy decals and 'powered by fairydust' sticker on the back.

At least the pink mx5's show a little tiny bit of taste relative to that.

I'd agree there. I also have bright fuschia pink crocs. Bright pink is ok, but baby "Angel Delight" pink, just no. That Bentley thing that Paris did was a monstrosity!

    Re: An unmentionable colour

On my way into work I sometimes see a Fiat 500 in pink - it looks like a mobile blancmange, a real E number colour.  (remember the ones you used to get in the canteen at school?) Bleah!  It's so well known that I don't do pink that my partner's mate (who is a bachelor, I might add) thought it was funny to buy me some pink walking socks for Christmas! Wonder why he's single???

we should start a nationwide campaign against female = loving pink, there must be loads of 'real' women out there .......

I've also seen a mini in LIncoln with 'powered by fairydust' all over it - it was driven by a middle aged bloke - I hoped  he was driving his wife's/daughter's car, if not, he must be very sad.

    Re: An unmentionable colour

A hate campaign against women in pink? Or pink cars? There's things far worse in this country and this world, where people don't even have clothes, or enough to change from day to day, week to week or even year to year.  A woman in pink does a lot for a mans libido (to say the least) so if she wishes to have a pink car - so what? Pink is a femime colour, but I have two pink shirts in the cupboard which date back to the 'flower power' years, when colour was the rage - no matter what. Does that make me feminine - or the alternative (you can't say the word anymore) no way, but I can appreciate pink in the right place, and sometimes at the right time too - - - -. It would be better if people devoted their time to the rights and wrongs in the world but no - lets scream about pink.

    Nuff said.

    Re: An unmentionable colour

There are a couple of pink work shirts amongst the mainly blue ones in my cupboard.  It's just a colour.  I don't really see why someone who liked pink shouldn't have a pink car, and it suits an MX5 better than most.

Now, a Pink 300C, that would be ridiculous.  Google it...

    Re: An unmentionable colour

Before we all get all pink loving and liberal and actually say we like pink for fear of being acused of being homophobic I'd just like to say

Pink is not a good colour for a car, never has been and never will be and shocking pink, well the clue is in the name of the colour "shocking"

Pink is a colour associated with little girls or even do I dare say it in this day, gay men. (nowt that is anything wrong with gay men, each to their own and all that) But the fact is most men who aren't gay don't want anyone mistaking them as a gay. But even if it wasn't associated with this it has to be said it's just not a good colour for a car or a shirt or a pair of trousers or a pair of shoes etc. unless worn by a little girl.

It's a good way for knowning if a baby is a girl, pink for baby girls and blue for baby boys

No lets not get carried away by thinking pink cars are good, please

Pink would seem to be a LOOK AT ME  colour for a car and does go well on a LOOK AT ME car.

At my daughters prom (horrid American import what was wrong with a leavers DISCO) last year one group of girls turned up in a pink cadillac convertible and both it and they looked great. There seems to be a thriving business in hirering these and other LOOK AT ME vehicles, see link.

Pink is so NOT a good colour for a car, unless of course you're a chavvy rediculously false-boobed egotistic ex-'model' who buys a £60k Range Rover then pays another £10k to have it painted the most putrid shade of Angel Delight so that it matches your horsebox!!!

God help us all....what was it Clarkson said? They should be shot!!!

    ...and rest Angry

Ah, I see you know my ex!! ;-)

I hate to say, but in Falkirk, my home town, there is indeed a relatively new RR Sport emblazoned in Shocking Pink. It gets worse. it's been fitted with very rude Aussie V8 Supercar sounding double twin pipes. Worse still...and I kid ye not, chrome drugdealer alloys. How can you do that to such a car? No idea what the female driver does...but I must say...she is...erm..quite a looker!

Ill do my best to capture it on my moby next time. Be prepared to vomit!
