    Washer Bottle relocation

Has anyone got a novel way to relocate the washer bottle on a MK1?

I am installing M45 SC and Double TB and a 135degree hose on the inlet, washer bottle is still in the way.

I have tried to mount it at 90 degrees (in front of the wiper motor and leaned on air con pipe) but cannot support the  lower lug and find bottle bounces on bonnet.

I had contemplated a very small washer bottle from Ebay

    Re: Washer Bottle relocation

I've seen people fit a small washer bottle to the scuttle area in front of the driver; 5-Speed's "Project Christine"; a long thin bottle that I think Steven had fetched from a Nissan, but you will need to check with him (if he knows what car it came from), but it might be a case of taking some measurements, and then spending a day at a scrapyard. Besides providing an alternative location, this solution appeared to me to be a neat answer to the problem of turbo etc warming the washer fluid, causing a dribble from the washer jets.

Alternatively; get a washer bottle and bracket for a ABS-equipped Mk1? These cars had the washer bottle relocated to in front of the radiator. Not sure the brackets are still available though, and many have rusted away.

Re: Washer Bottle relocation - Suzuki Cappuccino (Norpro)

    Hello Steve

I don't know if the Suzuki Cappuccino washer bottle fits a MK1, it certainly sits in the area behind the "firewall" baulkhead of my MK2.5

well out of the way of the M45SC.  Part no: 38450-80F00 cost April 2011 £61.36 inc vat.  The Mazda washer pump fits perfectly to the Cappuccino washer bottle.

Try this www.revlimiter/blog for some info.

I'm sure that I also saw a similar aluminium washer bottle on Nutz.

    Regards

    Keith

    Re: Washer Bottle relocation

Universal Intercoolers sell an alloy water bottle kit that is disgned to fit in the scuttle just infrot of the wipers. Its a shaped well to fit snugly in the gap and be painted if you dont want the alloy look.

    Re: Washer Bottle relocation

I am a tight "Northerner" and did not want to spend any money on this mod, I have done the looking through the breakers yards.

See the Washer bottle moved through 90 degrees. I am using a 135 degree pipe from the Inlet of the SC and do not need this area under the wiper motor for my air filter.

I am routing the pipes to the Standard MAF and creating a cold air box for my K&N Panel filter behind the headlight.

You can see the air con pipes and the L Shaped bracket, only problem was it was touching bonnet.

I am going to remove the block of wood and grind off 5mm from the locating lug on the bottom of the washer bottle, going to add some rubber and glue it in place.

Here is my SC bits awaiting one M10 x 35 mm fine bolt and I can start.
