what the hell is wired to my room fuse!!!

So blown the room fuse on Dita, no big deal you might think but in scrabbling round under there to see which fuse it was that has gone (stereo and interior lights all dead so made sense it was that one) I found there is something soldered to the fuse! Who ever did it has chipped away the corner plastic on the fuse and soldered onto it's shoulder which seems really dodgy although this wire is protected by a 15amp fuse so at least it is fused. I've noticed that the central locking is also out so could it be this that someone has retro fitted and bodged in? everything else on the car seems fine and the imobiliser hasn't been effected as she starts and runs fine but I can't change the fuse as this thing is wired to it!!!

    Anyone got any ideas?

Lots of stuff inside the `room` or `cabin` is wired through the `room` fuseThumbs up

Re: what the hell is wired to my room fuse!!!

Well it's definately the central locking as I swapped out the fuse this morning hoping nothing would stop working and low and behold the only thing not coming back to life is the central locking! Grrr means I need to find a proper perminent 12v to wire it to rather than solder it to the corner of a fuse.

Scary modification! by Reithryll, on Flickr

I have read a couple of threads whilst trying to find out what physical size the fuse is (as hadn't seen these smaller ones before and was worried they'd be harder to get) and noticed comment of a link to the ecu. I noticed this morning my weird revving issue is back and I'm wondering if changing the fuse has messed with the idle as I've tried tweaking the brake vacuum hose (the seeming culprit last time) and it's made no difference. Any ideas?
