 Nice red mk1, roof down, yesterday lunch.  Passed each other down a country lane.  Completely blanked my wave and looked at me as if I was mad?! 

I will not let this stop my waving!

Good for you, wave on. I've been waving at people for months and I know what you meen, they look at me like I've got two heads, but law of averages, somebody will have to wave back sooner or later.

I always wave at other 5's, I'm not far from Colchester so keep an eye out for me when I get the car back on the road in a couple of weeks! 

Perhaps they are NOT members and, therefore, do not know of this "wave" thing?

I agree with the above.  I have waved and been waved at when I had a golf gti, proton gti and when my wife had a mgf (we dont like to talk about that car), although I was never in any clubs.  It just helps if you dont mind looking like a waving loon at times

I think its the suffolk area, i've waved at least 10 5's over the weekend in ipswich, not one response.

Used to get a nod from a few blokes but i find women don't respond at all.

On the whole in Suffolk i get a good response to the waves i give
