    Will this work?

    So, I just bought this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140804746763&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:GB:3160

My intentions are to have the door tweets for high range, door card speakers low range and the headrest speakers for mid range.

So, all 6 channels in use there. The door speakers, I was hoping to do a bit of 'bodging' to increase the size to 6x9's so they could better handle low range. Has anyone attemped this? Is it going to cause more fuss than needed?

    Thanks

As a complete layman on this subject, your system may work when parked up somewhere quiet. I always wonder about car noises, wind noise, tyre noise, other vehicles noises, the distance between the door speakers and the headrest speakers, would you not have to turn up the speakers in the door to balance with the headrest so much on the move and possibly with the top down that it would be embarassing when you stop at lights in town ?

    Re: Will this work?

I see what you are saying, but the headrest dealing with the mid range would give me fairly clear audio at high speeds (motorway for example). Car noise is always going to effect the quality of what I hear.

Nothing I will do will detract from the above. However, with only low range going down by my feet, the tweets being on the door card and mid range behind my scalp. The 'feel' of the bass will be felt and the clarity should over power that of wind noise at speed due to the distance between my noggin and high/mid range speakers.

I really need to get the door cards off to see just what is possible in terms of size. I'm happy with my tweets and the headrest speakers are fine.

At the moment, all 3 speaker channels are sharing low, mid and high. Thus sound clarity being heavily unbalanced and distorted. Which I am hoping the amp will resolve.
