    Re: Broadspeed MX-5 Stafford

Chris and Dan at Broadspeed have done a great job my MK1. The dreaded rot had set in on the cills and rear arches, and one of the front wings was bubbling as well. I also wanted the timing belt /water pump changing as the mileage is over 126k. I dropped by with no appointment, they gave it a quick once over and sent me a quote ( include swapping the drivers seat as they had a better one than mine!). Please with quote so returned to have work done, left it with them for a few weeks while I was travelling.Got backand rang up to be told car was ready. Went down to collect, and very pleased with work. Thy had done everything as promised plus a couple of extras, including a few more bits and pieces. Extra cost ? No way, Chris even rounded down the bill !!. I'd recommend them to anyone, do what they say, and are very honest.

    Big thumbs up for MX5City

Thumbs up  I ordered a secondhand front upper control arm from MX5City and when it arrived it proved unsuitable (didn't have ABS fitments), so I returned it.  Not only did Martin refund my money, he also refunded the postage.  Great service Big Smile

I eventually sourced my Mk2 front upper control arm from MX5Revive and was very pleased with the quality and service Brian provided.  Highly recommended Big Smile

    Re:Mocom Racing

Hi there everyone , new to the forum but I couldn't help but read some of the suggestions for places to go , thought ild add my opinion to , the place I've been going for a couple of years is Mocom racing in Sudbury , zack the guy who runs it is a one man band and I can do nothing but highly recommend him , he's a Subaru specialist by trade but a magician when it comes to Japanese cars , and he's a born and bred driver so he understands how to set up a car for anyones personal feel , like I said its purely my opinion but if you live that way ild deffinatelly recommend a call/ visit if you need anything from a service to a complete engine rebuild :)

    Re: Mazdaman in Bicester

Just wanted to recommend Mazdaman (alias Brian) for anyone in the North Oxon / Bucks area. He's based in Bicester, and has serviced my car a couple of times and really seems to know exactly what does need doing (and what doesn't need doing, which made it a lot cheaper than I was expecting)! I've got a couple of mates with MX5s around here too who use him, and they sing his praises.

I was half an hour late picking the car up after he'd done the service this evening, and when I finally got there he said that he had got bored so he'd decided to clean ny car for me!

I can recommend Northcourt Garage (01189 871834),Northcourt Avenue, Reading in Berkshire. They have carried out a fair amount of work on my 1992 Mk1 1.6 at a fair price and to a high standard.

Re: PAUL SHEARD AUTOs - Congleton

I really don't agree with this.  I took my car a long way to be serviced.  Had to go back for various items that were not done correctly.  Also they did the cam belt which now rattles as it has the wrong tension.  I was told by another garage that it needs to be replaced again.

I for one would not use this garage.

I forgot to mention, the car also had an oil leak after the cam belt was changed from the rocker cover.  I fixed this myself as it was easier than taking it back once again!!!  The car had 30,000 miles on it when it went to them.  Came back with a sticking handbrake a rattling engine and an oil leak!!
