Points for Discussion, Ideas and Suggestions for our May meeting:
Bedfordshire Classic Car Show in Woburn – Sunday 5th – Monday 6th May
http://www.woburn.co.uk/events/article/the-bedfordshire-classic-motor-show/
Blenheim Palace 4th - 6th May
http://www.blenheimpalace.com/whats-on/events/2013/jousting_may.html
There's a jousting tournament on which could be a good reason to do a drive over Blenheim Palace. This is a bank holiday weekend.
12th May – We have an invite from Northants MX5OC club and Ken Stanbury to join them for the Ludlow Spring Festival. Paul Clifton – Northants club member has kindly volunteered to organise the annual visist to the Ludlow Spring Festival and we are invited to join the Northans club either at Sixfields or at Ludlow. Ludlow Brewery has offered us parking facilities in their main car park in front of their premises (accessed via Station Drive) at a modest fee of £2 per car, which Paul will collect on the day. Asd in previous years, the Northants group will be leaving from Sixfields cinema car park at 8 am and calling in at Hopwood Park Service Area on J2 of the M42 at 9.15 am for a comfort break and to pick up fellow travellers.
2nd June – Stony Stratford Classics http://www.ssccf.co.uk/
This has become very popular and is a good day out.
15th and 16th June - Great Linford Water Festival. Milton Keynes
Free event. Idea would be to organise a Sunday picnic.
31st July Classics on the common, Harpenden. http://www.classicsonthecommon.com/
Woburn: 10th August: A Midsummer Night's Dream. http://www.woburn.co.uk/events/article/outdoor-theatre-a-midsummer-nights-dream
Price TBA. I will be going to this event and will be happy to make it a MX5 Picnic evening. If we have enough members wanting to go to this then I can ask for a group discount as well.
11th August – Sunday
http://www.woburn.co.uk/events/article/The-Woburn-Rally-A-Festival-of-Historic-Vehicles/
23rd,24th,25th and 26th August - Twinwood Festival
http://www.joomag.com/magazine/twinwood-festival-2013-twinwood-festival-2013/0536268001359465428
Something a tad different to the MX5s. Have a look thru the magazine.
Something to do in the autumn
www.therexberkhamsted.com
Three Close Lane, Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire, HP4 2FG
worth going to this cinema in the Autumn and best to check the listing nearer the time to see what is on.
Bowling: A bowling evening would be a good idea . There are plenty of venues in MK and surrounding areas.
