I finally managed to find some time to take a trip with my camera while the sun was shining. If anything it was a bit on the bright side, but these are definitely better than my iPhone shots! Shot at Latchford Locks on the Manchester Ship Canal.

Newly fitted interior from a 1995 1.8i S, except from the seats which have custom leather covers in black and green from the previous owner.

Replaced the tacky after-market steering wheel with an OEM Nardi one from (I believe) a V-special.

Another view of the new interior.

Next jobs are to replace the wheels (a set of 15" OEM wheels are due next week) and to stain the panels on the seats back to green as they have faded to blue.

Looks very smart.

Hmmm...can't explain that as they are all on Photobucket so should load equally. Hopefully just a glitch.

Currently the ride is appalling due to a combination of lowered suspension and big 17" wheels. The consistent advice from the forum has been to change the wheels to something smaller as the larger sidewall should improve the ride quality. Plus, the longer I have had the car the less convinced I am about the 'big wheels' look. It's a bit 'boy racer' and I want to aim for something a bit more classy. But if the new 15" wheels don't work out I can always sell them and keep the current ones.

I put a set just like those on my MK1 some years ago, they look gorgeous but ruined the ride, I learnt my lesson with them and stuck to 15's on my Mk2.5. 

So here's a shot of the car with the new 15" wheels on it.

 Great choice of wheels, nice and lightweight and really suit's the mk1.
