Country Pub Cryptic Clue Caper - Sunday 7th June!

With a short break in the ER calendar i have taken the opportunity to whip up a quick pub hunt in the area to the North West of Norwich

This not only gives us a selection of excellent roads but as an added bonus there is a completely free car show being held on the main A140 opposite Norwich Airport.

So a run on some great roads around a few pubs with cryptic clues to get the Grey matter going, then those who fancy it can take a look at the car show or just do their own thing. Sunshine is on order!

The Event will be Cryptic clues to Village names in the area, then Cryptic clues to pub names in the village, then you are off to the next one! Full detail and all material and maps will be supplied so it is essential to let me know you are coming so they can be prepared.

There should be no rush with plenty of time to get round all the pubs, and a tie break included should we get a tie!

The meeting point will be Sainsbury's, Longwater, Norwich, NR5 OJS at 9:30am to depart around 9:45, there is a McDonald's adjacent so refreshments and toilets are not far away.

Should be a few hours of fun

 I hope to make this, SWMBO permitting (This is dependent on me getting the garden weeded, the grass cut, and probably a bedroom decorated on the Saturday!!)

 Been out most of the day doing the research for this, had a really good time, if you visit the villages in a methodical order the mixture of roads is amazing.

It was so hot, we even saw people swimming in the rivers!

Claire and I both got sun-burn

The finish venue has been finalised as the Bure Valley Railway Station just off the A140 at Aylsham, Cafe, loo's and loads of parking!

 Looks like Mandy and I will be there for this one - it is in our backyard after all.

So do we need to bring our swimming cozzies

I'll be leaving Colchester around 8am, so if any Ipswich members want to meet at the A140 Services then around 8:30am please let me know.

 Mind the A140 if t you don't know it, full of 40mph limits and speed cameras these days

 No worries guys, Another Norfolk event early July, we are off to Sandringham, Hope Trish is better for that

 I have a PROBLEM. I've got me, and a car, but now no navigator. SWMBO has got loads of work to do over the weekend, so I'm on my own.

Anyone got a spare navigator? I can't even get a sat nav to work because there is no cigarette lighter in my car, its a start button instead!

Quite a few people come solo so no need to worry, Cliff is in a simialar position as well so maybe you guys can team up to do a 2 car team, there are no hard and fast rules at all other than having fun!

I dont have a spare navigator as he's only 9, but am happy to pair up cars.
