I had the cam belt and waterpump changed just before christmas but there seems to be some residue of green coolant collecting on what I think is the thermostat housing. It's a 1.8 mk1 and if I look at the car down to the right of the block there's an elbow going into the block or waterpump. I can't remember exactly. ...

I have a simple question. It's very confusing reading this thread. I have a squeaking clutch. I want to pull back the rubber boot on the actuator and spray some grease in... Which grease though. I'll be going to halfords... Bit advice on which type? I was going to get white lithium but I'm having doubts now.

Thanks for your help so ...

The last few days I have been getting to grips with the issue my mk1 has, testing and monitoring things.. The battery has been going flat overnight. I have managed to use a multimeter which tells me that there is 1.08amp leaving the battery with the ignition off. I have then started to pull fuses in the hope that I'd find ...

Im just outside Newcatsle upon tyne. I have tried to pull fuses and still somethings up. I managed to get a reading in amps down because the radio was drawing some power with a faulty earth lead. Ive removed it completly for now so thats out the equation. Im still having problems though and after a run coming back, turning the ...

Over the last week or so my car has been flattening batteries. I have been trial and error testing a few batteries and have narrowed a few things down. Im no mechanic so I will try my best. When I test the voltage across the battery when it is not attached to the terminals it is always higher than when attached. If I ...
