• Re: Recommended in-car Video Camera mount?
Ive not seen one of those before, it does look good and a great position to film from . I think i'm going to make a purchase . thanks MJJ . Oh is the gps a phone type app or propper stuff for the job ?  Ive used the trackmaster app for sneaky lap times but thats about it .
No ...

  • Re: Recommended in-car Video Camera mount?

I have been using one of these in my MK2.5 for a while now - http://www.jassperformance.com/#_interior_2_3 . Replaces the passenger sunvisor, £25, and works a treat. Example of some footage using this mount, with a GoPro Hero2. Please excuse the blatant showing off round the Melbourne Loop each lap ...

  • Re: Bits from diff

Or you could just ignore it and carry on as normal. I found and extracted bits from my 2003 MK2.5 Sport diff many months ago, it still works perfectly fine as an open differential though it is not very good as a limited slip differential any more. Mine has had a number of track day poundings on it since finding the broken bits with no ...

  • Re: Seven year biker thinking of becoming a full time mx-5 driver!!

Welcome from a fellow biker. I have been commuting on mine (1400GTR and ZX10R currently) for more years than I care to mention, and still get a huge amount of pleasure from it. I think you will love the MX5s, similar sort of approach to biking, wind in the hair, lightweight (for a mass produced car), makes the driver feel part of the ...

  • Re: Spotted at Castle Combe track day 25th February 2012
Ahem, data logging?...
Yep, it is possible, just possible you understand, that perhaps I get as much pleasure from the geeky techie stuff as I do from the hurling it around sideways bit   Rather embarrassingly, I think I was prouder of the fact that I managed to get dials and data ...
They would try and tell you it is for better aerodynamics but it could be they are just sad they did not get a MK1.
Thanks for sharing the photos, nice memories of a great day. Mine is the silver MK2.5, my friend Jon has the green 2.5. We did manage the roof down later in the morning - honest . ...

  • Re: Castle Combe and Wiscombe Hillclimb
Did you guys make it? Im guessing you were the people parked across the paddock from us. I only came to watch and ended up taking the 5 out lol. Was a great day and fantastic to see so many 5s!
Yes, it was a great day. I was in the silver Sport, my friend Jon in the green one. Got 212 miles of ...

  • Re: Daylight running lights.

I fitted some on my motorbike to try and make me more visible, I bought the £45 Ring Lyra option from Demon Tweeks. Wiring is easy, as they have a voltage sensor to tell when the engine is running. You need no switch, just wire them straight into a ground and a 12V and they only switch on when the engine is running and thus the ...

  • Re: Getting petrol out of an MX5 MkII

If you have time to wait for something like this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-43904-Fuel-Transfer-Syphon/dp/B00123121K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328520494&sr=8-1 ) to arrive, this is a lot safer method of transferring fuel. Also proves essential for refilling gearboxes and differentials after an oil service. Martin.

  • Re: Castle Combe and Wiscombe Hillclimb

Myself and a friend will be at Combe with our MK2.5s on Saturday 25th February - with http://www.bhptrackdays.co.uk/ Combe is my local circuit, living only 5 miles away, and is lots of fun in the MX5. If any other 5 owners are doing the same day, come over and say hi. Martin.
