I've used 5w40, 10w30 and 10w40 both fully and semi synth for track days. All have been fine - if you have a nasp car I doubt you'll have any issues with any of these.
FWIW, I have settled on fully synth 10w40 as I think its the best for track days.

If the lap belt is riding up it usually means you haven't got them tight enough (or they are installed incorrectly). If you tighten the lap belts below your hips first and then clip in the shoulder straps there should be no riding up.
A 5/6 point harness is just to stop the submarining effect which makes them generally safer than 4 ...

Haven't noticed it per se, but I too have read lots of references to it and looking at the rear bumper it makes sense.
Looking forward to getting the car back on track to check for the extra 1mph down the back straight!
