Had to cancel mine as car on axle stands awaiting bits for brakes :-(. Hoping to re book for next week somtime so will report back when done.

Not sure I would want to advertise there could be a sat nav in car by leaving cable's & mounts on show? You can get a twin 12 volt socket adapter if that helps. I run my Garmin through one of these as the 12 volt plug sticks out too far & I hit my hand on it when changing into fifth gear HTH

With regard's to your head unit instead of the removal tool you are using (its very easy for these to be slotted inside the spring clips pushing them outwards preventing removal rather than slotting in correctly to the outside pressing plates in thus allowing unit to slide out) try 2 small screwdrivers in the bottom hole & 4th hole up. Saw a siver Mk1 with roof down coming up the A515 hill from Ashbourne past Fairways Garden Center this morning & not far behind a silver Mk2? with a hard top. Around 11 am & I was in a black mk2.5 waving like mad coming in the opposite direction (towards Ashbourne)
