  • Re: Bedford Area 'informal' Saturday meet ups?

Without wishing to appear rude we came along a couple of times and for a run out, didn't really seem to be remembered (see my original message above about that which didn't even warrant a reply from you). I used to run the Suffolk Branch of the Capri Club International very successfully back in the 80's and 90's and i remembered ...

That's not really a point is it? So many MX5 owners and so much apathy from them. Anyway, good luck with it.

  • Re: Bedford Area 'informal' Saturday meet ups?

Eh? Am i on planet daft? I am at a loss as to the lack of response then somewhat baffling comments that are posted to this old thread. Cardington area = Country roads for hooning. Country pubs for refreshment and socialising. However given the lack of response we'll carry on by ourselves. I do have to ask what is the point of paying to join ...

  • Re: Controversial ... :P

I struggle to unstand why you dont keep your mx5 and get an older practical car for practical use. You can pick up a decent old BMW series 3 or 5 for around £1k, and that's a lot of good, drivers car for peanuts. They'll go on for miles, the shape gets better with age. Sorry to sound glib but i cannot understand why you need to sell ...

  • Re: Home servicing

I thought the oil filter was easier myself. Sorry chaps. But, yes, it's good to get to really know our cars and know it's serviced properly. Bring on the winter - we're ready for it now.

  • Re: So I finally rolled up my sleeves and got dirty...

Don't be worried about the engines, they're pretty bulletproof. As long as you keep up the servicing when due then they will go for big miles easily. Tracey's MK1 has done 115k but is now purring like a kitten and running real sweet. I don't have any issues about putting another 50k plus on it at all. Stuff is laid out so nicely on ...

Just read your post after posting a similiar one myself. It is a great feeling to do stuff yourself. You've done much more than i have to our MX5's. I think we should spread the word at just how self service friendly these great little cars are. Nice one mate

  • Re: Home servicing

Cheers (our mk1 looks just like yours). Its just that cars seem to have got stupidly complicated to do these days. Traceys mk1 and my mk2 seem so easy to work on. A refreshing change. Last time i did stuff like this was on Capri's back in my youth. After them i got into Supra's and BMW's etc. and things just got daft. I am pretty ...

What a great saturday. Serviced my mk2 and the Eunos. So easy, i'm impressed at how simple these cars are to work on. Nice one Mazda
