• Re: Roll bar

I would thoroughly recommend fitting at GP roll bar from TR Lane. I've had it in the car for months now and I've never hit my head on it. It does ever so slightly obstruct the seat back movement, so without it rubbing, I can't get the seat back rotated as back as far as possible, but we're talking one notch of rotation. I'm ...

  • Re: Engine, gearbox and diff oil change
I used one of these from Machine Mart to refill diff & gear box oils, made life much easier & cheap as well.
For £8 I would recommend one of those to anybody. Would have likely saved an hour.

  • Windblockers

Out of interest, can anyone tell me why windblockers are so expensive? http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/classic-windblocker-p-137.html £115 for what I can only imagine is a frame with some type of mesh across it? What am I missing?

  • Re: Performance/noisy yobbo exhaust recommendations

Cheers Jon. Videos would be awesome if anyone has them. Although I said I'd pay for quality and the reviews for the IL Motorsports one seem to suggest it is that, I'm not sure whether I could justify spending over £400 on a backbox...

  • Performance/noisy yobbo exhaust recommendations

I'm considering putting an aftermarket exhaust on my Mazda, depending on how many pounds the insurance company will want to take from me for the priviledge. I'm after something that will make the exhaust note a little rumblier, but isn't too loud at idle and doesn't drone horribly in the car on the motorway, quite a big ask I ...

  • Re: Flat Battery Loud Ticking Noise?

Apologies for cutting into the thread here, but victormeldrew, why should you not bump start if you have an LSD?

  • Re: Taking out seats

Cheers, M-m. Only found a connection for the heated seats under there.

  • Taking out seats

Just to make sure before I get stuck in and something goes off in my face... I've got a mk2.5 sport and need to remove the seats. Are there pretensioners which need to be disabled, or is it literally a case of unbolting the seats and lifting them out? Cheers, Pete

  • Re: Engine, gearbox and diff oil change

Thanks Alan for pointing people to the Mazda Service Bulletin, it's worth reading. I've added it to the body of my original post to make sure it's seen. Glad the write up has been useful to a few people, and Mark, looks like we have a pretty similar car!

  • Engine, gearbox and diff oil change

Yesterday I changed the engine, gearbox and differential oils on my new mx5, so I thought I'd write a quick post saying how I did it just in case it's useful for another first timer. My car is a 51 reg mk2.5 1.8 s-vt, with 6 speed gearbox and limited slip differential.   The oils I went for were: Engine: Valvoline ...
