Found this link.....Looks like an OK, but not perfect fit. Think I might just try and repair the scuff!

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought of the exhausts. I think I need to find out for sure about the lights first. The last thing I'd want is to purchase a bumper only to find that I need £100's worth of new rear lights as well!

Hello All
I've managed to scuff/dent the rear bumper on my mk3. I like the tidier look of the mk3.5 rear bumper around the exhausts and was thinking of getting one from a scrap yard and repainting. Does anyone know if it will fit? I've seen somone on here who fitted 3.5 lights to a mk3 and was left with slight gaps so I'm wandering if ...

Well it doesn't happen if I rev it whilst stationary and I checked the hoses from the air filter onwards and they all seem fine. Thinking about it now, the noise could also be described as the sound of something spinning quickly (almost like a turbine), but only lasts a second. It's due an MOT soon so I might just see if the garage can ...

It doesn't happen at idle, but only when driving and changing gear at mid to high revs in any gear. Although I must admit I haven't revved the engine whilst still in the driveway (think I'll try this today). It sounds like air being blown from somewhere near the engine as the revs drop suddenly.

Yeah, it's a really difficult noise to describe. At least it doesn't seem to doing any harm!

I bought my first mx5 last year - a 55 plate silver mk3 with 50k on the clock and it's spotless without any body rust. The first thing I did however was paint a thin layer of silver hammerite neatly along the rear wheel arch lips. This is because I saw plenty of mk3 for sale when I was looking with rusty arches. The worst was at a Mazda dealer ...

Thanks for the reply. I've only had the car a year, but maybe a previous owner fitted one so I'll check. Is that the sound you'd expect from a K&N filter?

Hi All,
Can anyone suggest what could be causing this? When I accelerating the car makes a low pitched whistle (high pitched "moan") type noise at the point of changing up a gear from medium to high revs. Strange
cheers

Thanks for the replies. They currently point straight at the wipers so I can't imagine that's factory set. Once I've dug the car out of the snow I'll have try another look.
