As promised earlier, a photo of my rust. This is just a preliminary investigation, I have another car to sort out first before I get round to fixing this one. The other side also has problems, but I'm going to fix one side at a time.

I've just taken a small hammer to the side of the OSF chassis rail by the roll bar mount and to my horror now have a large hole. Having experienced many wheels stuck on hubs because garages had not used copperslip I would use Hodgesons Mazda like a shot ( or I would if I used garages at all)

It does depend on how much time you have and on your facilities, a good MIG is essential. My MG was far worse than your MX-5 and I repaired that myself, but it did take me some time (read years on and off) and I do have good facilities (although not a ramp or pit).

Unless the rear tyres are exactly the same size, then a correctly operating LSD will cause the car to veer about as you come on and off the power.

Good point, the bulbs in both my fog lights were incorrectly fitted, not an easy thing to do, but as said idiots are quite ingenius.

I had the same problem, so moved the new Rainsports on to the front and that cured it. It's probably down to the mould release agent used on the tyres and should wear off fairly quickly, assuming you do not hit anything in the meantime.

I leave my smart charger permanently connected whenever the car is not in use.
