• Re: Changed brakes. still not 100%
I found this http://www.venommotorsport.com/ebc-ultimax-brake-discs-front.html
I've been using a set of those on my other car. The coating was worn off the friction surface within 10 miles, braking was OK while this was happening, but not great. Once the coating wore through they were ...

 • Re: Fair Fuel Prices
The fuel price protest in 2001 worked.
It wasn't exactly a long term solution though, was it? Although it did prove that people were happy to pay £10/litre if they had to.

 • Re: Form leads Function?
In 1962  a Spitfire PR Mk19 was put into a series of disimiliar air combat trials against a Lightning, as the RAF was wondering how Jet v Propeller would turn out, as they might have had to mix it against Indonesian Air Force P-51's.
And what were the results?

 • Re: Form leads Function?
How much of this design engineering trickles down to the us mere mortals.
I know two design engineers who were in F1 until 2011 and are now designing production cars. Even on silly components like brackets there are things to be learnt from racing than road cars benefit from.

 • Re: Don't try this at home kids...
Joking aside, sadly this has made me think hard about my '5. Shes 17 years old, small and vulnerable. I've added so much bracing (roll cage, chassis rails, cross braces, door bars etc) that I may as well hit something in an iron girder. No crumple zones, no ...

 • Re: Anyone had a near miss/death experience in their car?
Thought as the weather was nice I would go for a drive after work with the top down. Going through the country lanes and came out of a village to natiopnal speed limit bit so put my foot down as no cars ahead. Im going round a long sweeping corner to the right and i can see a lorry with a trail of cars behind. ...

 • Re: Should I buy extended warranty?
Hi all, I hope I have posted this in the right forum...I have just bought a 2000 Icon. It comes with 3 months Warranty.
Ignoring the extended warranty issue (I've never had one and can't imagine I ever will) I do have some useful advice: Take you car to somewhere familiar ...

 • Re: Should cars be governed?
What a load of c*** (in my opinion) (yes he's at it again) I want to take to the "B" roads and go as fast as my 5 will take me, when I accelerate I want to feel pushed back into my seat I want to take the revs up and listen to the wonderful burble turn to a howl before changing up, when I ...
