The engine was juddering due to the caliper being seized, and the ECU threw a cam sensor fault. They looked at the car for an hour and a half and said no fault found, but did we realise that the cam belt should have been changed at 108k miles (shame they didn't tell us that when we had the 108k mile service).

What an appauling main dealer. Failed to diagnose a seized caliper - diagnosed as a cambelt problem.

I have a MK2 rack on my MK3 - works well, better than the MK3 one which I sold. You need the type that is adjustable. Fits perfectly.

30 MPG for 1.8 MK2, MK2½ and 2.0 MK3.

The exhaust is cosmetic, replacing the suspension and getting it WIMmed is the best thing you will ever do to a MK3. I have had a MK2, a MK2½ and now my MK3. I hated the MK3 until I had the suspension done - it now drives like a real MX5.

Good price - I got the springs on offer for £90, 4 hours for me and a mate to fit them, and £90 for WIM.

No issues as far as I am aware a lot of people look at the MK2½ that came out in 2002 as it was better specced that the MK2 - Variable Valve timing and 6 speed box on the 1.8 Sport model. There were also some cosmetic improvements inside and outside.
Some of the MK1s I have seen seem a little over priced.

With out a doubt suspension (and put the eibach springs on while you are about it), and switch off the traction control - you don't need it and the car drives far better without it!
-
You need to lower it, Eibachs are good, then WIM it or similar, and ALWAYS remember to turn off the DSC. It will then drive like a 5.

They generate so much revenue from motorists already, but they still want more, and they think by penalising people they will get votes. Get real!
