If the zip has just come off its run then it may be possible to reattach in situ - I've a few pullers in stock too.
However, if its more than that then it may be roof off time to sow in a new zip. I guess it may be possible to sow in without removing but I've never seen it done.

I fit new hoods for local mx-5 owners so may be able to help a little?!
Firstly, how is it damaged (seam split, stitching detached, puller snapped, not zipping etc?) and is it an original hood?
Pics may help too pls?
