No, that sounds about right. I found exactly the same problem when I put 40mm lower springs on mine. Bumpy roads that I could previously take at 70 or 80 now felt dangerous at 50-60. I put it back to stock as soon as I could.
5s on lowering springs look fantastic but as far as actually driving it goes they're a waste of time and money.

For one reason and another I've had my alignment done 3 times since I got my 1990 1.6. Each time the person doing it has told me that there wasn't enough adjustment to get it spot on and this last time is's actually quite a long way out.
