  • Re: Guide - keyless/remote entry system (Mk2.5)

Hi Graeme, I really enjoyed reading this. I did much the same thing a couple of years ago on my 2004 model. I installed a Falcon (incliuded an alarm) system but seems to be very similar. It would have been good to have had such a graphic description at the time. As you say the big problem is accessing the plug, I took the seat out and lay on my ...

  • Re: Mk3 Supercharger

I had my MK2, 1.6 turbo-charged at BBR; they do not use a rolling road, they do several days setting up on the road with software connected to the ECU. The ECU is their own modified version. I guess the issue is optimising the fuel injection to the amount of extra air being supplied. MIne has more than 220bhp and does 0-60 somewhere between 5 and ...

The manifold and downpipe you can get for your car from Begi, also in the states. You will ...

  • Re: Superchip

I think the problem is, anything that squirts in more fuel is not much use unless you can get more air in as well (hence super/turbo chargers) you may see small gains and having colder air going into the cylinders does improve things a little too (Charles' Law states that air density increases with reduced temperature for a constant pressure) ...

  • Re: 17 inch wheels

I fitted exactly the same size wheels and tyres and even with a turbo and in the wet I do not get wheelspin or lose the back end as I did with the originals. The tyres are Yokohama which were a bit pricey at more than £100 each but worth it. Mine is a Mk2.5 so perhaps some different geometry on the Mk1 needs setting-up.  Mike

  • Re: MK2.5 Fog Lights

I went for the ones MX5adall suggested but many many thanks for your response and I agree the appearance is the main issue Mike
