  • Re: Bits from diff

Hi Martin, As the car is really the wife's cruising around toy, I think given the cost of replacement and no real guarantee that a 2nd hand one won't already be buggered I was thinking the same, change the diff oil every few thousand miles checking for more tabs and see how it goes. Don't want her to crash if the diff did lock up but ...

  • Re: Bits from diff

Latest victim, took the wife's in for a quote on rust correction on the rear sill, mentioned I had noticed a noise coming from what I thought was the diff. Nice man opened the drain and went oh **** that's not good, oil was like night and there was a nice tab waiting in the hole for us when he drained the oil. Now booked in for a ...

  • Mk2.5 Bootlid Stop Light non-functioning

Hi All, Our 5 just slid thorugh the MOT with nothing more than a side light bulb but when I got home realised there was an advisory on the boot lid stop light. • Re: 03 1.8 Sport fitting Mazda / Cobra 2-1 Alarm

Hi, I have not actually asked them to quote although having just received the kit, I may well do just that to be honest unless I can find the fitting instructions lurking on the web Seems I am possibly the only fool who would try these kind of upgrades to the car. Ian

  • 03 1.8 Sport fitting Mazda / Cobra 2-1 Alarm

Hi, Well having secured a very cheap upgrade kit, I was wondering if anyone has any experience of fitting this upgrade. I spoke to Mazda who suggested 2.5 hours of their labour rate to fit, I also spoke to an alarm tech who said he did not rate the alarm and fitting was going to be a nightmare. I am reasonably okay on fitting this kind of ...

  • Re: Tyre Choice MK2.5

Hi All, It was camskill doing the deal on the Toyo's £115 delivered for 2 which I wish I had taken as even with local fitting wuld have beaten all local places. Even at the new prices they beat my local dealers. Ian

  • Re: FJ AON - cannot see them as being focussed on the Club impact

Well, 35 minutes on the phone to NU and a slight adjustment in my excess strategy and a reduction of £80 achieved. So was the same last year with NU but got there in the end as they say. No AON for me this time. Ian

Update Adrian Flux, came up with the same price as NU, actually with NU and I just tested out Privilege and it also came up with the same price level. So it seems that I am not going to better the NU position at this time, anyone else got other companies ? I will give Admiral a try later on. Cheers Ian
