Interesting views, now to put mine in which many will disagree with! Our Mx5s are 12 and 18 years old and I do an oil change every other year and do little else. Why? the cars are not worth much and will undoubtable rust away quicker than the mechanicals will fail, and at just 2000 miles a year it is not worth spending more on servicing. ...

We recently tried to sell our MK1. It has only done 60k miles, has stainless exhaust. new MOT, tyres and hood. I thought £1950 was fair but we didnt get one enquiry. If we had to sell I guess it would be around £1200, but as others have said it's far too good to sell for that price so we will keep it.
We also have a Bungalow ...

We have two MX5's:
Mk1 in Laguna blue 60,700 miles
Mk2 in Twilight blue 67,000 miles
Both have a new MOT and passed easily, there is little corrosion on either. Due to the arrival of a Land Rover Discovery (To tow a horse box, the expense begins!) we have run out of space on the drive.
The Mk1 is the wife's so I havnt driven it ...

Last time out the wife couldnt restart after filling up as the immobilser (button type) would not disengage. It started later but on checking it wasnt behaving quite how it should. First stop was the battery and checked the electrolyte level, no problem there, but hang on, the positive terminal is loose. Tried tightening but soon realised the ...

Is the polisher you have bought a rotary? If so be VERY careful, Mazda paint is generally pretty thin.
