Oh, I forgot. Last week I had a set of lowering springs fitted and the wheel alignment and geometry done by Ali Burrows Motorsport near Dungannon, Northern Ireland. Very professional oufit. Car feels great.

I cleaned the drains in my mk3 then fitted the hard top (with help from my son).

A friend of mine has such stuff fitted. Thankfully it has never been called into use. Cost him £50 for all four tyres.

I also bought a spare alloy and fitted the best of the outgoing tyres when I fitted four new tyres. It sits in the garage.
I uprated my RAC membership so that I will be recovered to home. I'd love to carry the spare but haven't yet managed to fit it in the boot - standard 16" alloy, so the punctured tyre would be the same size ...

I have a different problem and hope someone can help me. The bolster on the side of my drivers seat is worn and I'd love to get a seat cover for it - the covers are removable. Has anyone replaced their fabric seat covers with leather and have the original cover available? I have a 2007 mark 3 and the fabric is the standard black ...

Agreed the price of the hard top is steep. I financed it with the sale of my previous mark 1. As a friend of mine says, "When the money's spent, it's spent". The hard top is very good - looks good and makes the car feel a bit more secure - it is my daily driver and is parked all over the city. It'll come off when I need ...
