• Re: Help needed - What to do with old midpipe and CAT

Wow. Had no idea the stuff was dangerous.   i do have an induction Kit that i made myself with a bit of 90degree silicone hose and HKS mushroom (its a bit more involved than that). it does give it a nice burble/roar depending on where you are in the revs. But after what ever exhaust modifications i make i dont want it to be ASBO ...

  • Help needed - What to do with old midpipe and CAT

I had a bit of luck recently with finding a very clean looking mid pip and CAT on a written off car that i was purchasing some other spares off of. I am thinking this will be my 'MOT Exhaust@ in order to get me through emmisions and things but i was wondering if theres anything i can do with the old mid pipe and what i ...

  • Re: Cam Cover - Colour Ideas?
Not one to follow the crowd I went with white gold - engine bay is not finished at all yet but this is it so far. I really dont like some more typical combinations ive seen but maybe ill change mine a little later if i fancy it.
OH MY GOD! i have been looking for this colour for ...

  • Re: Mazda Skunkworks, California

Looks to me like theyd put some ideas for the changes to be made for the NB onto paper. then threw them together on the body of an NA to get an idea of what itd look like. Amazing really the differences are really subtle but as a whole picture it makes a big difference. Im glad they exagerated the curves in the body work as it runs of the ...

  • Re: Exhaust Replacement Catch 22

they are both good ideas but i dont really so much mind covering the cost aslong as i can find some where who will do the work on credit. if it saves me putting cheap partts its worth it. plus i wouldnt mind my car having a sportier note. by "the front section" im assuming u mean just after the manifold.  i had ...

  • Exhaust Replacement Catch 22

I have recently started noticing a raspy noise coming from the exhaust of my '99 mark 2 1.8 sport. only at certain revs between 2500-3000rpm. long story short about 3 months ago i had the engine rebuilt due to an oil supply problem on pot four causing it to chew a liner out and subsequenty a big end. unfortunately this put alot of ...

  • Re: '99 NB Sport Running issue

Mystery solved. was a faulty connector to the coil pack. I initially started to look at this area after the helpful suggestions on here (gave the coil pack a bit of a persuasive knock after someone had suggested that might be the faulty part) which made the engine spring back on to all four cylinders. got it home, disconnected the whole ...

  • Re: '99 NB Sport Running issue

oh god i really hope it isnt the coil pack. ive left the igntion on for periods of time before yeah but not on actual ignition just the first click that switches the radio on. another thing to note could be that it seems to happen more regularly when ive parked forward onto my drive (car facing uphill all night) than when i reverse ...

  • Re: '99 NB Sport Running issue

I see your logic but the issue has been there since ive had these leads (about 4 months.) and on the ones before them.

  • '99 NB Sport Running issue

Every so often my car will start really lumpy like its only running on 3 maybe 2 cylinders. Usually struggling to idle and the revs diving a rising every few seconds. It moves while running like this fairly well (with about a 3rd the usual power/torque). then a few seconds/sometimes a few minutes later it will jump back to life with its ...
